"Whine
about your worthless life loser"
Been a while... Friday was pre-employment briefing. I start next Tuesday
with Orientation. We get to see many movies meant to inspire us to high
levels of corporate boosterism. Ooohhhh. I can almost feel a group hug beginning....
Went to pick my guitar's at the shop and Don hadn't even gotten to them
yet. That had never happened, turns out he'd been busy. So I'll pick them
up on Tuesday after movies and popcorn.
On the way home, since I'd been up all night cause I didn't want to oversleep,
and traffic sucks so you gotta get an early start, and cause my sleep patterns
are all screwed up, I was so tired I almost ran off the road a number of
times. I hate it when that happens. I never said I was very bright...
So now I have to go prowl around the facility tomorrow and try to find the
building I'm going to be working in. Starting at 7:00AM. Ack. Can't we find
a more inconvenient time to do this? Anyway, I'm just proud to be part of
Uncle Bill's economic reversal in that I now have a regular job and can
help support the economy. I feel so patriotic all of a sudden....where's
my flag....
I got this semi-serious offer to play in a group down south. The problem
is that they are south of me and I don't want to go through a huge commute
to do something I like to do. It took the fun out of it last time when I
commuted north for work and band, so I kinda, sorta, maybe turned him down.
I've known this guy for years so it's not a question of playing together,
it's a question of I just got this job which is going to kick my *** in
short order with huge amounts of work and I need to see what my schedule
is going to be. OH well, it 'll happen.
It's been raining all weekend (gee!....how unusual!.....) so it's been dark
and cloudy and perfect coffee drinking and book readin weather. We even
had a lightning and thunder show last night which IS unusual for us. Just
looked over and saw my laundry pile. Now that's scary folks. I ought to
do some tonight but I just can't get motivated for that. And I'm almost
out of detergent. Yeah, that's it, I'm..uh...out of detergent so I can't
do laundry...whew...
Ashley MacIssac(?) is playing at the Paramount tonight. And they are playing
him on the radio quite a bit. Also doing a free show at the Starbucks at
the U district tomorrow. That and the new Counting Crowes "Recovering
The Satellites". Music seems to be slowing down and getting a bit more
melodic which I like. I like letting my adrenal glands get a rest from the
music every now and then.
Brian is one of the first things
I found on the Web. If you haven't seen this site, I recommend it.
Hope you have a good week. You deserve it.
