And so we come to the point in the story where we ask "then why are we taught these things from youth only to have to unlearn them again later?".

And the answer that comes is that in the learning we learn about our Lord, and about the love that he has for us. And isn't that a gift all in itself? Don't we remember the day, the hour, the moment, that we first came to believe and feel in our hearts that God and Jesus were alive and not some characters written into a nice story?

That is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Theologians often talk of the Three Comings of Jesus. His arrival and ministry on Earth, his return at the end of time, and also the constant indwelling of him, God, in our hearts and especially during Mass.

Be Blessed!
