Oh boy! The bro got a promotion and I went over to help him x-fer some windows (GAG!) files onto a friends 'chine. He was in an excrable mood. And his daughter has not been taught any manners. And then he tells me I should have some kids. Duh. Kinda like Jane suggesting we have kids when we are in counseling trying to keep our marriage together. NOT!

Anyway, back home in my cave and happy to be here. Waiting impatiently for PageMill 2.0 to come out. Fishheads on the "Real men code HTML by hand". Bullshit.

Have you heard what Tim Berners-Lee had to say about the state of the web? Don't know who Tim Berners-Lee is? Go here - http://www.w3.org/hypertext/WWW/History.html. Tim Berners-Lee invented the Web single-handedly.

Anyway, he says he never envisioned people actually learning how code HTML or using the HTTP protocol at the level we do.

Think about it: for you DOS users, do ave to specify C:\APP\DOCS\DOC.DOC to retrieve a file? How many of you use escape sequences to get compressed print anymore? Or to get landscape orientation. If you don't remember ever doing it, thank God for it. It was hell. Anybody use WordStar or AppleWorks? I did. And I am glad I can just highlight and select the big "B" to get Bold type.

Anyay, I will use the automated programs (unless I can't do it any other way) cause only moron's code HTML by hand if they don't have to.

So, I'm waiting for PageMill or HotMetal 3.0 or Claris HomePage to be out. I know HomePage is free but it sucks bad. HotMetal looks pretty good in the '95 version so I hope the Mac version is as good. Hell, the Mac is the superior interface so why shouldn't it be?

Did anybody get to Maggy's World yet? Thank God for sites like hers. Makes the net a much more personable place to be. The rest is corporate junk. Bouncing heads, JAVAScript, JAVA Applets (and Cottlets), Animated GIF's, ShockWave, and other assorted putrid stuff. How about just good HTML? How about some content? How about some personality? Not GEN-X cynicism from kids who haven't even had the experience they claim? I am so sick of dry, dark witticisms about the state of the world by people who haven't even lived in it yet. Such bullshit and temerity. Oh well... The future belongs to them thank god. Not me. I'm sure they will blame my generation the way they blame everyone else for their problems. Serves em right.
