Okay. It's the 25th, and it is definately Fall here. You can feel wheel the turning man. Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep your Dharma rollin. Don't get squashed!

The neatest thing about today was that I saw the sun! Maybe not a big thing for some out there, but for those of us who are daylight-challenged (A.K.A.- night people), the Sun is like Cibola. A fabled, mythical thing.

Okay, we also need to get out more too.

Not too much doing today. Cat's on vacation so there ain't a lot happening in that arena.

Ever tried a Hefeweizer beer? Odd things... Got pulp and shit floating around inside it. It's enough to put you off your feed I tell you. Tried some Henry Winehard's Dark and Sam Adams Cream something. Both were GAK!! :-( Had MGD with dinner last night. Now there is a beer worthy of Milwaukee. I like Guinness best. Also getting to like Black Butte Porter. Full Sail and Pyramid should have their Christams ales out soon. Ah yes....Allah is merciful...

Been thinking about all the people I haven't called to let know where I am now. I've been moving so much for the last 4 years, that I am sick of notifying people. Oh well. Hell! Just remembered! I have to get a Driver's License and register to vote! Things keep piling on and I forget to take care of things like survival.

I have 8 cans of soup in the fridge and a half-pack of Cream Cheese. Plus, 1 pound of coffee and Sweet 'n Low and Mocha Mix. I am definately a low maintenance person. I still got clothes, guitars, CD cases, books and VCR tapes on the floor cause I have no place to put them. I wonder if I can hang from the ceiling and suspend them in bags....

Things kind of dull on the diary front 'cause I'm not interacting with a lot of people lately. That will pick up in a few weeks with the new job. Anybody else starting a new job?

This diary is not filled with the usual angst-laden tortured soul screeching's you may be used to. I'm a bit of a propellor-head, fly surgeon and geek. I'm callow, shallow and self-centered. Remeber the character Alexander Gudonov (who is still dead BTW) played in The Money Pit? That's me. I even look like him when he might have woken up with a hangover after being mauled by wild dogs in the Bronx.

The big things of my day involve a new browser or email program to test alokng with copious amounts of HTML coding. Speaking of which....nice segue what?

I just bought tcpConnect4 from InterCon. What a cool gadget! It does email filtering (global and by mailbox), dual pane FTP, news, finger, ping, whois and WEB. The Web browser is not frames capable (yeah!). Been sent packing from four frames sites today cause tctc4 is not frames capable. I happen to belong to the I hate frames club ya know.... Anyway, for $89 you get all this. I know I can get most of this for free, but I got a thing called a conscience and if I push it too hard, it complains. Ya know?

Anyway, I was looking for a replacement browser for Netscape cause it crashes all the time (v. 2.02), and you can't get Netscape v. 1.X anymore, and IE is just too ugly for words and Mosaic 2 is DOA and Mosaic 3.0b4 uses that crash enabler Internet Config, and NetManage Chameleon crashes too, and I don't like LYNX (will you shut the hell up Drew and get on with it!!!), so I was in a bit of a grind. Plus, I had gotten addicted to Eudora 3.0 (the demo), and needed the multiple filtering it has. So, where to go....don't answer that.

So, I logged into Intercon's site and tcpc4 had just been released so I downloaded it and tried it out. Great. For those of you who like frames, neatly formatted tables, JAVA, Animated GIF's or ShockWave....this is NOT the program for you. But, if you want a highly integrated suite of tools that is stable, then check out tcpConnect4. Both Windows and Mac versions available. No, I don't work for InterCon.

Anyway, we got a Nuclear Test Ban treaty that India may not agree too (India?); China and Taiwan hate Japan for the Islands it claims; Dole pulling back on the control stick as hard as he can as he goes down in flames (Pull Up Bob! Pull Up! See Bob try to pull up....); Kim Jong-Il acting like the asshole he is by sending his boys down in a, and I love this part, plastic submarine!!!!!! Anyone but me find that completely hilarious? Anyway, taken all together, things are not too bad overall. Think about it. If you were living in Europe 400 years ago you would be worried about the 15th Mongolian Horde riding over the far hill and raping and killing your entire family, and spreading Bubonic plague everywhere they went. Kinda helps to put things in a different light don't it?

Supposed to be Lunar Eclipse tonight but I can't see anything on account of there being no moonlight. I wonder why?

Found a good magazine on Coffee called (originally) coffee journal. I culled it for URL's and put them at this page if you are interested.

BTW, I have Netscape stickers for car windows available. If you want one (I only have four), then send me an address and I will get them out to the first four people I get email from. If you are in a nasty mood or your Premarin just isn't making it, why not give the Newtster an email.

Be cool.
