Okay. So I haven't been writing as much as I should.
I have been busy. But then I said that last time didn't I. Hhmmmm.
This is the deal. I got my domain up and running and I have no ideas on
what to do with it... Oh, I guess I have some ideas, but they are so incredibly
huge and complex, that I don't know if I can pull them off. I don't have
the software to do a lot of graphics, but then I don't like graphic-intensive
sites anyway. Or bouncing heads, JAVA, animated GIF's, or any of that stuff.
I just want to put up good stuff. Course, this could be the indicator that
I really don't have a lot to say!
I got the account so that I could put up our family Genealogical
records. The first file took up 5.5MB's and the other three files will take
up at least that much. So, 25-30 MB's or rental for $10 a month plus hosting
anything else I want, is pretty good. Actually, Simplenet offers Unlimited
storage and Unlimited downloads for $10 a month plus a $40 setup fee. Best
in the market. If you don't believe me, check out the ISP section in my
bookmarks files. Interspersed in there, you will find Virtual server and
hosting companies. Check their prices. Simplenet also offers Domain's for
$220 registration (takes care of the InterNIC and 2 years of fees) and hosting
for $25 dollars a month. It has gone up in the last three months, but that
is stil reasonable. Check 'em out... The more people we get on here the
better our chances of keeping the prices down.
As far as the contemplative/prayer/spirituality 'zine, I have three writers
confirmed and need to contact some others I have read in the past and see
if they are interested. I'll even post their previously published stuff
just to have some stuff to pout up. Desparate? Nah.... The 'zine name is
the kicker as it helps to set the tone of the whole thing. What
do you think of the names: Hermitage or Urban Hermit? Yeah right...given
the response to other questions I have posed on these pages, I might as
well be talking to myself...which of course I am. But then, it's my journal.
The weather is good today. Cool (55°) and the Cascades are out. Life
is good. Talked to Loretta recently, and to another. But then, that ain't
never gonna work out is it?
Still got stuff spread all over the floor of my apartment cause I don't
know where to put it all. I need some rolling hanging things and another
bookcase. Get those after I get the offer letter. Thinking about selling
my Leo Fender Death Commemorative Guitar (never been used dude!). Have picked
up on a Fender Tele Elite available for $599. However, it has been available
for over 9 months at that price. I think I will offer less. Duh, yup, that's
what I'm gonna do...
Been up and down I-5 three times this week. Shit! That's what the hell I
moved to Everett for! So I wouldn't have to do that. The only problem is
that everyone I know lives in the south sound. Crap! Got to go to Gig Harbor
to do an install. Another all day job. At least I get dinner out of the
bargain.
I wind up calling people I know at odd times or writing them email at four
in the morning cause I am so freaking lonely. The broster says to move back
to Chattanooga. I says there ain't no work there. He says you never looked
real hard. Which is true. He says he ain't got no one to drink a coldbeer
with. us, it was good to be around Dad and closer to Meg while there but
#&^!(%^ it was hot down there! AND, I had the worst nasal/ear infection
I have had in 25 years while I was there. It just ain't my place ya know!
Moving back home really did clear up the infection.
Dave Matthew's band on the tuneage. It's the waiting. It gets to you sometimes.
I COULD be in Vancouver right now. I might go up depending on what I hear
from the personnel office. Stanley Park in the fall.... Ah man, ya gotta
see it. The seawall walk and the harbor. Walked it in the rain with Jane
one time. With a storm blowing in and us not really prepared for it. We
got soaked but the drying off was a WHOLE lot of fun. Warm showers after
a cold walk in the rain and gas heat. Can't be beat!
Maybe I will venture out later and get a triple shot Grande Mocha. And a
Raspberry scone. How 'bout High Tea at The Empress! Victoria is also great
this time of the year. Next year is the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, held
annually. You ain't seen nothing till you seen that I'm tellin you. Miles
of tulips and the Cascades. And I moved away for three years? What the hell
was I thinking about? Obviously I wasn't thinking... Where
do you live?
I gottanidea about something to do/write about. Gotta go...
Be cool.
