"We were fighting the good fight..."

What's New...

Well. I finally am rid of Colette. Last Sunday she got kicked out of the apartment she was in and came looking for somewhere to stay. I didn't let her in. She spent the night outside ringing the door buzzer. Monday she rang the outside buzzer and asked to stay here until she could get out of town. At that moment I saw a human being who needed help, not someone I used to love. So I let her stay. To make a long story short, she finally got a ride home last night and now she's gone. Thank God.

I have Little Feat on the CD. Haven't heard Let It Roll for ages. Great tuneage. We have a major plan underway at work for the A/P. But then, when don't we have a major plan underway for the A/P. 'Tis a good time to be on a program cause the company is busting wide-open with success, and there is enough work for everyone who want's to work. Some don't. I have one of those. But that is a self-solving problem isn't it?

Bean riding all week and it's getting to be second nature now. I tell you what. This thing is powerful. I can be in third and crack the throttle and I'm zooming from weird traffic in no time. There is a Motorcycle Safety WebRing and I've found a great site to get tips and techniques. My main thing now is to try to focus through a curve instead of what is ahead of me. If I don't look ahead, I may get target fixation on a patch of ice later and ride right into it instead of planning a path around it. So it behooves me to practice. As luck would have it, I've avoided the rain at just the right times this week so I don't to have to wear rain pants to work or home. That won't last much longer. When we get into September, the rain is pretty much constant, so I'll be wearing them when I leave home and when I leave work.

Oh yeah. I didn't win the Lottery last night. Rats.

What's On My Mind

I think I may be going into a slump med wise. I don't know if it is Colette or my brain. Anyway, I tried to get into my shrink today and he is out of town till next week. I'll see if it's me or the last lingering effects of Colette. I'm taking my meds on time so I don't know what it is. Although, I'm a low metabolizer and I am just on the plus side of having enough on-board. Maybe that's it. I go to bed early (8.00P) and can't get up at 5 or 6A. I feel a bit tired and sick so maybe I have a low grade sick thing. Who knows. I'm just going to watch it. I went in at 11.00A today and felt woozy. I still feel woozy but at least I am at home.

I am really looking forward to this three day weekend. I don't have any firm plans but I hope to have something together by COB Friday. Some riding (but not too much), some good food and some visiting friends in the South Sound. If I had my license I would be riding to Grand Coulee but that ain't going to happen. I feel up to the ride but not without a license thank you.

Boots. What kind, what style and how much to pay. I need a good pair of riding boots that won't let the rain up my leg. I really don't like the typical moto boots but they are built for riding. Haven't been to Target or Fred Meyer yet. Maybe I'll go find a western shop and see what they have. We don't have a Shoe Pavillion around and the Payless shoe stores don't seem to stock the heavier kinds of boots I'm looking for. A friend uses lineman's boots but that isn't quite the style I want.

I miss my brothers at the Friary. I miss Morning and Evening Prayer starting off the day. I miss my friends from L'ville and So. Indiana. They are good people and life goes a little more slowly there. Things is looking up for a trip back east next spring so maybe I'll get to see some of them then.

Sitting here yawning big jaw cracking yawns into my monitor whilst I download an update to tcpConnect4. The version I have is corrupting my prefs file and hopefully this will solve that. Also, the thing abends all the time and that is annoying. But then, so does Netscape and nearly every other browser I've ever had. Wassupwitdat? Anyway, it's almost done so I can uncompress it and install it and test it.
