"So tell me stories of yesterday's glories..."

What's New...

Well, well, well. Last weekend Colette and I did Whidbey Island by scooter. A 200 mile trip. After having given the whole relationship thing some thought, I thought why not give it one last try? Well, I had my scoot so I got her one. We motored around and got back on Sunday at 3.00P. She then went out ostensibly to get some shoes. 6.5 hours later I get a call from the guy she hangs out with and he say's she dumped her scoot and is being taken to the hospital. I go to the hospital and the first thing she asks is where is Brian (the dufus she has been sleeping with). After I practically beg the cops to haul her ass to jail (they couldn't cause they couldn't place her as the driver) I walked back into the treatment room and told her she lived with Brian now. I came back, bagged her stuff up in garbage bags and that was that.

She's been by a few times to get some things and to beg food. She also wanted me to take her to the Dr. to get a checkup since she felt bad and pained. I said good. Maybe it might teach her something. Probably not.

This week I bean scooting to work and loving it. I had already identified my next moto purchase (a Honda Pacific Coast 800 - PC800 -). After the shit hit the fan with Colette, I just decided that I would not wait and trade both scoots in and get the moto I wanted. Tuesday I got some body armor (kevlar and kevlar pads, gloves) and today I picked the thing up!!!!! It's a '94, black and silver. This be what it look like exactly!!!! Gorgeous. A V-Twin touring bike. I'm planning to go to Grand Coulee Dam next weekend for a shakeout cruise. Update to follow. Hell, I needed a hobby. Sure got one now!!

After the saleshark got it back from being checked out and washed, he rode it up to me and I was definately nervous. I hadn't ridden anything bigger than a 350 dirt bike in 20 years. Now, here I am presented with something just a step down from a Gold Wing. Actually, he turned out to be right. He said it was more stable than the 150 scooter I had been riding and he was right. Fantastic balance and great throttle response. Very smooth. I puttered around for a few minutes before venturing out onto the road to go home. Neutral was hard to find but I got the hang of it enough to get home in one piece. I need to go to the BMV and get a learners permit so I can legally learn how to ride this thing. Then to work and ride in our huge parking lots and get the feel of this thing. We have a nice perimeter road that is perfect for practicing on. Some turns, straights and very little traffic.

The bozos at the local telco have got my apartment complex hosed for sure. I've not been able to connect past 2400 all week. They said they would have it up by Friday and today I connected right twice. Just tried again and back to the same old shit. Morons. What is with them? This isn't exactly rocket science. They said they installed digital switches(?) here or something like that and things ain't been right since. Great. So, we'll see when I actually get to upload this thing. Shit.

What's On My Mind

I gave Colette everything I had to give. My heart and time and attention (and lots of money) and it wasn't enough. I mean, we had the best weekend we've ever had and she had to go drink beer with this bozo and hang out with him. I wasn't enough. Fair enough. Go your own way dudette!

I'm working on getting a life. Maybe motorcycle's are something younger dudes do but since I didn't get a chance to really live that time in my life I may be doing it now. At any rate, I want to get into bikes and do some serious touring. At any rate, I'm safer than I would have been at 25. I just want to go far and see some things and ride in the rain and cold and see B.C. in the rain and the Candian Rockies and Banff and Lake Louise and do So. Cal in December and maybe a trip East in the spring.
