What's New

Been a while. Like, over 3 months. My bad. Anyway, back to work since the first of the year and things are going well. I didn't receive a notice for layoff but was just notified that my retention rating was downgraded to lowest...undoubtedly due to last two years and last eval I received. Anyway, going to a job fair tommorow in Seattle and am applying for a job in Houston that might have some potential. Houston would actually work since it would put me closer to family in the South and to friends in the mid-west.

Gotten away from .mp3's. I think the last CD I ripped was back in October when my hard disk went down and had to re-do the entire collection. Maybe that had something to do with not wanting to do anymore for a long while :) Interestingly enough, the first .mp3 I heard was from Eagle Eye Cherry - When Mermaids Cry. He is now touring and seems setup to be a hit. Which is nice. He has a good clean sound, understandable lyric and write well. Good for him. Now I just need to get Mermaids back since I didn't have a copy when I crashed.

Wind and rain and rain and wind. For something like 12 weeks now. This is Puget Sound...sheesh. Anyway, it's not been pretty. Even the hard core are saying they wished it would let up. As for me, I know that as soon as it does, the same people will be whining about how they want the rain back and by then we'll be in a drought or something. People are never satisified.

What's On My Mind

Employment. Also, I've about burned out on playing the online games. The people aren't the type I would normally associate with (a lot of youngsters cursing at each other) so I'm thinking of starting to get out more. Also, now that I have the energy and good outlook to do that, it makes itself more attractive an opportunity every day.

The Macintosh. It seems to be coming back which is nice. In fact, my next puter may not be an Intel box but a new Mac box. We'll have to see what the job thing works out to be. If I get away from playing Starsiege, then I won't need the Intel chip. Which is nice. Windows is such a drag. Just getting back on here and getting my pages fixed for 1999 was a pleasure. Things work so much more smoothly on the Mac and it is a just more visually appealing than Windoze. Nothing that hasn't been said before..but when you jump from a 200Mhz Intel box to a 33Mhz Mac box and STILL enjoy using the Mac more...well that says something doesn't it.

That I'm really quite boring. Which is good for me. After the last two years of being nuts, depressed and generally fucked up...this is ok. I'm yer basic nerd and geek and I enjoy that. I don't get out much and that's ok for now. The cat is completely stone bug house nuts from boredom but that gets fixed every day when he rips my arm off in frustration. Oh well...

Updating this thing. Now that I don't have some kind of weird shit happening to my brain...I don't feel the need to work with this thing much. But, I think I will just to keep looking back and thinking and examining. May do some good for me...who knows. It damn sure isn't going to be that interesting for the casual reader but then it's not meant to be. It's just me.

I used NetObjects Fusion on the PC and it was nice and all...but it created some severely non-portable HTML and would have been a real drag to modify later or turn into standard HTML. That said, when I crashed last October, it seemed like demons from hell were after me. Now it seems that everything worked out for the best. I'm back using a simple HTML tool, which in turn creates standard simple HTML...which can be used anywhere. And I really didnt lose that much original material. Just a lot of work formatting and switching over to Fusion. So it goes.
