I got a sore throat....

What's New

I am sick as a dog....ugh!!! I have not adapted to this place at all. Mike thinks it's the climate. He says that whenever he goes the other way (desert to coast) he gets sick. Anyway, I'm sick. I woke up Wednesday morning with a sore throat. Thought it was post nasal drip. Gregg at work came in on Monday saying he had strep throat..but ya never think that just talking to somebody can get you sick. Wrong. I went to bed early as usual on Wed and tossed and turned. I was swallowing so much from my throat hurting that my jaws were hurting. Anyway, finally got up and went to the KGH ER. I only had an 98.7 temp so I was sure I had made an ass out of myself by going to an ER...although it was only one around. Dr. comes in and says "say ahhh". I opened up a bit said "oh" and he said "oh ja...yer a mess". Turns out I had strep (or acute pharyngitis as its officially called) and acute bronchitis. The bronchitis I didn't even know I had.

So he says "you have a ride home? Cause I'm going to shoot you up with some righteous stuff and something for pain and you can't drive". So I ultimately got a taxi but not before the nurse shot me dead in the ass with two large hypos. And yes, they hurt like hell. At least they don't lie and say it's a little stick. So I was whacked by the time I got home and barely made it to bed I was so stoned. Needless to say, Mr. Throat had little to say on the matter :) Sitting here after having taken my pain meds and my bronchitis meds. Both are a bit narcotic so the buzz is kicking in. Feeling no pain now let me tell you.

Anyway, been riding as best as I can on the ZRX. Mike is going to buy the PC800 from me which makes me a bit uneasy. I sure hope he doesn't have bad luck with it or get himself hurt or killed on it. That would suck sooo bad. He's a good friend and the thought of him getting messed up does not do much for me. He keeps saying he knows he is buying a used bike and that if he does himself on the road it's his choice..but it gives me the creeps I tell ya. I worry bout the dude. I guess others worry bout me but it ain't the same :)

What's On My Mind

Letting a good friend buy yer old motorcycle leaves you (at least it does me) wondering if I have said all that is wrong with it, or makes me think "is there anything dangerous on it that he needs to know about or I haven't told him?" I am sure I have told him everything I know and yet he is going through with it. I am having the OEM Dunlop's put back on the thing, brake job, suspension, lube, oil and lube the trunk release. That should set the bike up as well as it can be without Metzler ME2's (top of the line touring tires) which are out of the league price wise anyway. And Dunlop OEM tires are good to go because the bike is inteded as a touring bike anyway so any OEM tire is by default a touring tire.

I hope that he has no problems with it...to beat a dead dog. He is not all that tall and even though the PC is not all that tall either, it weighs 200+ pounds MORE than any bike he ever rode....which was at least 8 years ago..hence my apprehension.
