Been working on getting my callouses back on my fingertips. During the move, I wasn't playing and now I'm paying for not keeping them up. It bloody well 'urts to get 'em back. I've got the welt on my chest and the sore spot on my right arm where it goes over the body. I need to take the Peavey in to get the intonation adjusted and the action set a lot better than it is now. I can do a lot with my axes but those two things leave me scratching my head. I can adjust bridge screws but somehow never get the strings the way I like 'em. The Elite needs to have a new volume pot for the neck pickup (the current one jumps volume tremendously near the final travel, it adjusts tone too much and it's also scratchy). The pickup selector on the Elite is like one on a Les Paul and it's tight and sticky and it needs to be replaced too. Don at Center Stage will be able to do all of the work.

The Seagull acoustic needs the electronics checked. It produces a 60cycle hum. That was a real bummer cause the last time I played it was at the MSF Centennial opening and the thing is just buzzing like crazy about two hours before the thing starts. Had to use the Takamine which does not have electronics. Couldn't hear @#$%. Gonna check with Don to see how much it would be to put in a Fishman or HotDot on the Takamine. All of this has been waiting for the last three years while I had em in storage, and now that I can afford it, I might as well get it done.

I'll check around up here to see if there are any bands looking for guitarist's. I need to get back out playing. But hell, guitar players are a dime a dozen. Was surfing around the net last night and found PRS's site as well as Gruhn guitars in Nashville and some other places. Good stuff. A lot of nice, mint Tele's from the 50's in the multiple 10K's. Too rich for my blood. Gruhn's did have a Custom Shop American Standard. I really don't like Standard necks though. Too fat and wide. The Tele Plus I had also had sharp shoulders although the rest of the neck was good.

Heard from a friend in TN tonight. Called to say he had had his appendix removed. Was at a customer site working with balky Pyramid Controllers and began to feel awful. "Dang Bill, you don't look good" "Hell Jethro, I don't feel good...". Goes to the Doc in Box and they say "You're white cell count is about 600X higher than normal and you do hit people when they poke your side...We think you're gonna bust wide open and spill out all over the floor if you don't get your 'ppendix out son". So he drives two and half hours HOME to have his appendix taken out. From Knoxville to Chattanooga. Insane. "Bill, you ever heard of appendixes rupturing?" He says the doctor thought he shouldn't have any problem with it in that short a time. Yeah right, Doc. Says he mailed me a postcard from Graceland a week to 10 days ago and I still haven't gotten it. When he said that it all became clear who I was supposed to mail a card to - his wife Kathy! She had said if she mailed one from Graceland I had to send one from here. Damn. That had been bugging me cause I couldn't remember who I had promised a card to. Now I can get that out of the way. The mind she is going.
Got Def Leppard "Hysteria" on the headphones. Which do you like better (if you like the boys at all), Hysteria or Adrenalize? I like the distortion sounds they got off this album. It's also a very fluid sound.

Hoo boy, went' to the store today and the Halloween stuff is out big time. I'm surprised that Christmas stuff isn't out yet. Why not leave it up all the time and save wear and tear on the decorations? Just dust em off every once in a while. Don't got nothing planned for 'ween which is good. Don't want to be out driving with all the little people out and about. Hopefully people will be watching out for them. It seems that Halloween is going by the wayside because of all the bad things people do. You can't trust the candy, kids aren't safe walking around in black outfits at night because people don't watch out for them anymore. Shame. Life is getting much colder. A lot of the joy I had as a child is gone from our society. It's a shame. But that's what you get when you decide the individual is more important than the society in which it lives.

That's enough for now.
