"How did we get here???"
Crud. I think I'm getting stupider as I get older. Here's the hot skinny...
I'm thinking (wrongly of course) that maybe, just maybe, Microsoft can get better with each version of Internet Explorer they put out. Although I have had no luck with their Mail and News reader (although I've tried or used every other one on the planet), I felt maybe IE 3.01b might have been improved. NOT!!!
First, the damn thing is 9.7MB!!! Give me a break here!! Since when does a browser/mail client/news reader need to be 9.7MB!!! Then, I get it down and it tells me I need InternetConfig (which I resolutely hate) to run it. Sorry Charlie. Crud. Must be getting senile. So I downloaded Mosaic and Mosaic 3 again (cause I'm a glutton for punishment that's why) and now 3.01b4 runs fine!!! Plus, it is FAST!!! Explorer sucks and Netscape is fast going that way. I still use Nav 2.02 because it works fine and is faster than 3.0. Call me reactionary, but didn't we learn something already in the industry about application bloat and that people don't really care how many bells and whistles you attach...just that the thing does the core job you got it for??? Stoooopid....
Cleaned out about 20MB of graphics I never used. I downloaded them last year thinking "oh goody...500 bullets that are just different enough from each other to justify saving them all" Doh!!! Anyway, they are history. Spring cleaning can take many forms.
Godzilla upstairs is having his usual stomp fest tonight. He seems to have gotten a new play partner and I think they are trying out every square inch of the apartment. I think by throwing each other there... Doesn't anyone do it on a bed anymore??? Sheesh....
Last few days have been a complete waste. Being nearly out of money, I've been hanging out at home and downloading stuff...deleting it cause it hangs my system...then downloading some more. My ISP loves me. Got a proposition to fund a startup today. It is to laugh. I have to email 'em back and let them know that now is not the time. Maybe later. All they were asking for was $5,000. You'd think I could cough that up but Noooooooooo... Anyway, can't do it now. It's a good idea but not doable right now.
I've been biting my fingernails since I can remember. Now, I'm trying to grow them out a little and break the habit. Do you have any idea hard that is?? Worse than another habit I have. And I am NOT giving up that one...
