"Easy operator came a knockin' on my door..."

I don't know what it is. I am up at 0400 on Monday morning and I don't feel like going to bed yet. I started BuSpart last week and I think it is making me a little twitchy. Either that or I am in a manic phase. Can't tell yet. It's just been so long since I was interested in anything that every time I get on the 'puter, I can't get myself away from it. I thought maybe the Effexor wasn't working this weekend and that I was getting depressed again. I don't think that is the case. Just catching up on updating my system and getting some cool shareware from the net. I'll have about a hundred dollars of shareware to pay for at the end of this 30 day period...but it's worth it. I can't run System 7.X without it crashing my system so I have to have all these goodies to make up for all the functionality I'm missing. Course, this is only short term. Once I'm back to work, I'm getting a PowerPC and BeOS. Goodbye MacOS forever.

Relationships...now let's see here. Seems to be going okay now. Working on trust and letting go of insecurity and letting her be her. Letting me be me and working on keeping a clam attitude to the whole thing. Never together enough but who is at this stage. Geography plays a part in all this. Let it ride...

Saw "From Dusk till Dawn" the other night. I was never so glad as when Quentin Tarantino got killed. Yeah! A sick fuck...no lie. I've seen Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction and I don't ever want to see another of his movies. I have enough crap in my head to last a lifetime and I don't need any of his batshit crazy movies running in my brain. Nuff said...

Got The Boys on and they are rocking!!! Hysteria....aaahhhhh. Such blisss..... Music plays such a part of our lives that we often take it for granted. Do you know you are manipulated in stores with the type of music they play? Do you tune in to '80's nights at your local radion station? Or whatever decade you relate to the most? I would be a '70's person if that decade hadn't just generally sucked dead rats as far as music was concerned. Damn. I remember High School (as his gorge rose in his throat), everyone at one time was wearing faded overall's with a red bandana hanging out of the right pocket. No different than the Gothics and gangsta styles today. Looked a little tamer but a uniform nontheless. Acchhh. Ptooh!!! At least I went to a military High School for a while and had a legitimate excuse to dress like everyone else. Colette could not believe I do not own a pair of blue jeans. Sorry. I just like Docker's style (all cotton thank you) better. Lighter and easier to move in.

Bills have to be paid and I haven't gotten my taxes done yet. I should get a sizeable chunk back this year. That will help. Due to MedLeave, I need it. I'm going to H&R Block and get a RapidRefund. Normally, I wouldn't give them the time of day except for a fee for services but I need the dough fast. Soooooooo... :-( Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do...

We had about 50 to 60MPH winds all day yesterday. Wild ride man...wild ride!!! Everything was creaking and groaning with the changing loads and noises like you don't hear everyday. Almost Banshee like. I seem to have this thing for Banshee's. Always listening for the sound of trains. Tornado's are a slim possibility in WA but you never know. Had one in Bremerton in '87 I think. Earthquakes are a bigger hazard next to Volcano's erupting. We could get 9.0 force shaking going on. That is going to lay waste to Seattle when it happens...either way.

The obligatory <RANT>...
Ok...just remembered. What is the thing with GeoCities??? Why does everyone put their pages up there??? Is it because it's for free? Doesn't anyone pay for anyting anymore? Well, you get what you pay for. The links in OpenPages don't function half the time when it's a GC link and the icons on the WebRing index page that don't load are (9 X out of 10) usually GC images. Tiring. Wanna know something else? The freaking advertisers don't have to ultimately pay for the bandwidth they suck...WE DO!!! We t he users of ISP's who have to pay for the shit they dump on us. Ever think about that?? Sure, they have to pay for putting it up but we have to pay with increased page load times and possibly higher rates for infrastructure improvements. Advertisers suck. The bandwitdth problems are really caused by all the server push animation coming from the banners the free sites get tagged with. Personally, I don't want animation screwing up my pages. They are already screwed up enough. Or someone elses advertisement downloading onto my machine without my permission. I need CNN for news but those animated GIF's bug hell out of me. You can't tell the link you are over cause the things are cycling all the time. And running my HD's MTBF down. Sheesh... I only use browsers that can't do animated GIF's or frames. I just want the content. Not eye candy. Anyway, I wish GC would get to be a little more reliable if everyone is going to use them. </RANT>

Bulk emailers ... the scourge of the known world. And I love it when they say you can reply with REMOVE to get taken off the mailing list. F*****G lies!!! Only one remove message has ever made it to the intended server. All the rest come back undeliverable. If you are a bulk emaile user you rank right up there with such social nusciances as noisy garbagepeople and bank robbers. Bite me.... How bout this?? The bulk mailers (both paper and email), advertisers and Shock (preferably ECT'd by midnight) Wavers pay for the bandwidth they waste. Not us.

Time to strap on the axe, fire up the machine that makes my motor run, pick up a new .50mm Dunlop Tortex, tune up, turn on, and rock out...

Be Joyous!

Drew
