"Last chance for a cause.."
What's New...
Just took Zoot to the Vet. He gets his shots, ears cleaned,
flea treatment, neutering, worming, etc. all done in one shot. This is good. The
little bugger was a squirm monster and a fighter at the office. Who would have thought.
The vetster thinks he's about 5 months old. As big as he is, I think I have a good
shot at getting him turned into a real monster. He already weighs 5.6 pounds. At
least tonight I'll have an uninterrupted nights sleep. No crashes, bangs or thuds.
When he sleeps on the bed, I wake up hot because he is not letting the covers move.
I may get him a bed of his own. Though if I do that, he most likely won't sleep on
it. Maybe I'll just leave robe on the floor and he'll sleep on that. That's where
the beast was this morning.
Well, I flunked the motorcycle written test :-( Drats!!! I
hate those things. I missed passing by one question. The one I felt like challenging
asked about a stuck throttle. The answer was hit the kill switch and pull in the
clutch. I didn't select it 'cause I would pull in the clutch FIRST and then kill
the engine. Rats. I selected shifting to neutral and braking. Oh well. I'll get up
early Saturday and retake it. The weird thing is that I met a kid who was in the
MSF course last weekend. He had failed the test that morning and was back to retest
also. Small world.
Downloaded SiteMill the other day. I was surprised that my
serial number worked, but then, I didn't write the db authorization code did I? The
thing works really well and helped save my a** back
at the beginning of the year. Just checked the MS site-'o-doom and they don't offer
a trial version of FrontPage for the Macintosh. Oafs. Anyway, I have enough software
to get the job done well, and that is enough. I know this woman in the south (well,
almost) and she does great graphics (right J??!!!). I wish I could do sites with
her. We could be a real team. I'm not the most technical guy around, but I'm fast.
I got another request to do a site, or consult on one, for another non-profit. It
ain't much but it's my way of giving
back.
What's On My Mind
The increased meds seem to be working. I missed my shrink appt
on Monday cause I'd lost the appt card. Sheesh. That was a bummer. I go in tommorow
morning. I'm still going to ask to get on anti-anxiety meds for the time being. I
hope that helps. Got The Girls on so I must be getting better.
My second level mgr tapped me on the shoulder Tuesday and said
to stop by and see him sometime soon. I wonder what that's all about? Actually I
think I know. He's going to let me know it's okay to back out of the lead position
if I need to. If so, I sure hope he has something in his org that I can do. Otherwise,
I'll ask around and see if I can get a Webmaster job somwhere in the company. Our
intranet is huge and I love to do web stuff anyway. Sure be a good stressless way
to earn a living. Well stressless compared to what I'm doing now. Well, maybe.
I really am craving a PowerPC. The prices are down far enough
but I just got the bike so I will be waiting a while. When I get the car down some
or get the card down a whole lot. As it is, at least this system is stable and working
the best it ever has since I got it.
I don't use conjunctions much. As I read through before posting
I notice that my writing is stilted and very formal. I use more words than necessary
(that is called being wordy Drew) and that conjunctions are mostly absent. I wonder
why? Maybe because I was taught to use proper English? Sure wouldn't know it from
this journal.
I need to brush my teeth. I mean really brush them. They feel
awful and I also need to brush my tongue. I've found that brushing my tongue takes
care of most, if not all, of my breath problems. Probably more than anyone wants
to know.
Sleep. It's 6.15P PST and I need to make sure I get a good
nights sleep so I can get up and get back in the groove. I need the paychecks ya
know. Plus, without money I can't buy all the neat software I want, not to mention
the PowerPC I want or pay off the things I've already sold my soul to get.
Love folks.
Be Joyous!
